You've prepared well and impressed the interviewer/s sufficiently for them to make you an offer. Congratulations! But before you snap their hands off you must take time out to consider precisely what is being offered and be sure that you are getting the right deal for you - not just in monetary terms.
Your reasons for looking for a new job can be one of (or a combination of) many considerations. Perhaps you are frustrated at the lack of opportunities to move into your ideal role with your current employer or maybe you have aspirations to specialise in a particular field of law that cannot be fulfilled where you are currently working. In which case, staying where you are will do your career more harm than good over the long term.
Decide if the company can give you what you want in terms of possible training provision, salary, career progression, and location. Does the company offer you the opportunity to handle the type of cases you want to be doing and for the type of clients you wish to act for? Are there genuine opportunities to take your career in the direction you want it to go? Often your gut instinct is the right one, although considering all the pro's and con's of joining another firm or staying where you are is often reassuring in making a considered decision and one that you are very happy with for many years to come. Our consultants will help you to decide if the offer is right for you. It is in our interest to ensure that you are happy with your decision otherwise you may be looking for a new role sooner rather than later.
